As my magazine is quite a mainstream styled magazine, I think I would have the kind of publisher such as IPC Media. IPC Media is the second leading publishing company in the UK, which has over 60 iconic magazines and owns 20% of the market in the UK. I think someone who has had a lot of sucess publishing previous magazines would be the kind of person to publish my magazine, this is becuase I believe that my magazine has such a wide audience that someone would need a lot of experience working within the market and to know many different kinds of audiences to reach them all. One of the advantages I would have with selling my magazine to a company like IPC Media would be the amount of recognition and popularity they have within the current market, my magazine would imdeiatly become part of that and that would help to launch it into the market. This would benefit my magazine as I think I would have quite a kick climb to fame if I had any, I don't believe my magazine would be able to survive with the sophisticated style and mainstream audience it has. One of the only problems I think I would occur is the ediotoral indepence which I really expected my magazine to have, I would like to have the magazine feel quite exclusive. But this is almost contridicting the popularity of my magazine. Say for example if it was sold in such places like Tesco and WHSmith, my magazine would then be free to all and quite common in areas. This would help make the name more memorable and increase popularity, but reduce the exclusivity I first wished to obtain.
The right kind of advertising for my magazine would be cruicial, as it is to almost every magazine. I believe my magazine would be suitable for advertising methods such as billboards and posters, with a stylish tv advert. I think this would be the best way because billboards are quite stylish and subtle.
